There are many free web hosting providers out there that provides you web hosting for free for lifetime. They also provide large disk space and also bandwidth. I would always recommend you to sign up for a paid web hosting service than a free web hosting service and there are many reasons as to why. I had initially hosted some of my websites on a free hosting service, when I could not afford to pay for web hosting. In the beginning it went well, but after a month or so the server down time increased and sometimes my websites were filled up with ads. File transfer to the server took ages and for each support ticket that I submitted it took nearly a week to get a response, and that too an automated one. This was a few years back and right now I have few websites hosted on free hosting providers. I use them only for testing purposes. The quality of service has increased quite a bit in these few years though I would still recommend you to go with paid hosting.

x10hosting:

x10hosting is one of the best free web hosting providers out there. They are a cloud based web hosting service and provide many features such as 1 click web software installers(WordPress, Joomla, MyBB, etc), cPanel. They are reasonably fast compared to other free web hosting providers. Server uptime is pretty bad, which is expected as the free hosting servers are usually packed with users. See full features

AwardSpace:

AwardSpace is another free web hosting provider that I would recommend. They have premium plans as well. Their free plan includes 1 GB disk space, 5 GB bandwidth, auto script installers and no ads. See full features

Hostinger:

Hostinger is another one of my favourite free web hosting provider that offers many features for their free hosting service. Their free hosting plan includes 2 GB disk space, 100 GB bandwidth, website builder, etc.

Update: 000webhost which was responsible for the free hosting has shut down its operations. Hostinger is now a premium based hosting solution 🙃

I would also recommend Wix and Weebly, the two good free website builder services, for those of you who would like to host a website without any web development knowledge (just the designing of web pages).
